Why are we selling these reports ?
We are looking for these types of vehicles today for ourselves - we know their are more like us. Performing the proper level of research and analysis which we think will create a valuable buyers guide without accepting advertising monies insuring non-bias, needs to have revenue to pay the basic advertising and production costs.

Why are these reports only available on line and not as traditional printed books ?
Allows continual updating of evaluation reports and additional resource links which represent significantly greater value to the consumer than a static book. A book plus a continual updating web-site would not be possible due to the dynamic state of the world today in electric cars where many ideal candidates may be only available through participation of small and agile companies.

Why do we currently not accept advertising on this web-site ?
We want to be totally independent, without perceived or real bias in our evaluations in recommending one vehicle over another that could be motivated by a revenue source.

Why do we not sell cars on this web-site as other buyers guides sites do ?
Same answer as the above question. We want to be totally independent without bias that could be motivated by a profit motive in recommending one vehicle over another. In the event that we would perform engineering or any other type of consulting in the future for any of the cars we would consider in our evaluation, we would clearly state both on this web-site and in our reports that this car will not be rated in our evaluation. If the car is truly a category leader or should be rated in the top five, we would still include its Pros and Cons for the consumer to make their own buying decision and we may place another car in its rating position.

Will the reports list cars available for us to to buy today ?
Definitely Yes. This is the reason we felt it was time to publish these reports. A critical mass of choices is now available at an acceptable risk level for a small but important part of the car buying market.

Who is the target customer for this series of reports and by the same token the cars we evaluate and rate ?
We define our group of fed up consumers to be "limited risk early adopters" - not "immense risk taking early adopters" and not what the car industry would call "regular consumers". Yes we fall into a smaller purchasing group, however movement by people like us is what got the Prius to where it is today. However, due to the current scarcity of vehicles which meet our requirements from major auto manufacturers at this time in the electric car industry, our target customers are probably more risk taking than the initial buyers of the Toyota Prius - Prius took a major step but not as major as what we are searching for and Toyota will stand behind their product no matter what.

Why is the plug-in requirement mandatory for all cars considered in our evaluations in these reports ?
This requirement is the kingpin of our evaluation because this allows the car owner to charge their car by either simply using their local power company electricity at lower off-peak rates over night (still a dependent option) and/or through a combination of their own independent creative sources of electricity such as solar or other means at their disposal - as history has shown time and time again - when a pathway in a product is provided for American ingenuity to explore, innovation will result and in this case consumers through their own actions breaking our oil addiction.

What will be contained in the reports ?
Results gathered and analyzed at a specific time during the year. Conclusions drawn about all the cars available for purchase during 2008 in each category will be rated with Pros and Cons listed along with all specifications available to the consumer at the point of time of the report finalization. If any car becomes a new contender within the year or specifications get updated, updated reports will be made available to all report purchasers. Additionally as listed under the tab “Contents”, additional resources will be included and updated regularly which should aide the car consumer in making the right car purchase for their own situation. Please review the preview .pdf document available on the "Order Reports" page item #2, and it’s table of contents for some details.
